We're a metal-detecting and gold-prospecting store based in Kilmore, Victoria, right on the doorstep of Central Victoria, the Golden Triangle goldfields. "Deep lead" is what the old-timers called the buried ancient river channels that carried central Victoria's gold; it felt like the right name for a shop that helps people go find it.
Plenty of gear stores treat beginners as a nuisance and detectors as a race to the highest price. We don't. Most of what makes prospecting fun, a pan, a pinpointer, the right accessories and knowing where you're allowed to go, costs very little. So we lead with honest advice and the gear that actually finds gold, and we'll happily talk you out of the expensive machine you don't need yet.
