A sand scoop is a small hand shovel for digging and sifting on loose ground: you scoop up the sand around your find, then let the loose sand sift away so the coin, ring or bit of gold is left sitting in the scoop. This one is moulded from tough plastic, so it's light on the arm all day and won't rust in salt water or wet sand. Because it's non-metallic, you can pass your detector or pinpointer straight over a scoopful without it setting off a false beep — handy for telling exactly when your find is in the scoop. Ideal for beaches and creek banks.
