A sand scoop is a metal basket-shovel for beach and shallow-water detecting: scoop up the sand around your find and give it a shake, and the loose sand falls out through the holes while the coin, ring or nugget stays behind. This one is made from thick marine-grade stainless steel, so it clears sand fast and won't rust — a heavier, buy-once tool that far outlasts a plastic scoop. The socket takes a long handle (sold separately) if you'd rather sift standing up than bent over.
